Before bringing gerbils into your home, it is vital that you understand how to properly care for your gerbils. Linked bellow are a few of our favorite articles on gerbil care, which we highly recommend reading before adopting!
First, a few quick tips from us:
1. ALWAYS keep gerbils in pairs!
2. Don't use any plastic in your gerbil's cage. Although there are hides and toys made of plastic marketed for gerbils out there, these are extremely dangerous and toxic to your gerbils.
3. Don't buy cages marketed for hamsters. These are not big enough for hamsters, let alone gerbils. We suggest using a 10 gallon aquarium with a wire cage topper or a 20 gallon long aquarium as a cage instead!
